Create has a powerful Train system for long distance transport of players, items, fluids, and everything else. These can be handy for across the wastelands or help you transport enormous amounts of materials, and most importantly, can move through unloaded chunks.
Tip: If something is confusing, you can always hold W while hovering over an item to view its Ponder!
Laying paths to different locations will allow you to relocate your trains.
Placing a track and 右键 it with Tracks in your hand allows you to place tracks quickly and create curved shapes.
If you hold blocks (or Girders) in your off-hand, these will automatically be placed below any tracks.
First, 右键 tracks with a Train Station to create an arrow on the tracks, which indicate the forward direction of the Train.
Next, place the Train Station beside the tracks to start creating your own Trains!
In the Train Station interface, press Create new Train - this will project light blue spots on the tracks next to it.
Placing Train Casings on those spots will create a Bogey. You can connect up to two bogeys with building blocks to form a Carriage. Remember to use Superglue!
Place Train Controls facing in the forwards direction of your train.
When you're finished, press Assemble Train inside the station's interface, and your Train is now functional! 右键 on the Train Controls and use your normal forwards and backwards movement keys to drive the train.
Sadly, trains have some limitations. A single train contraption cannot exceed 20 bogeys or be longer than 128 blocks - keep this in mind while designing your trains.
Note: You can always change the limits in Create's config file, but remember that increasing the limit will use more server resources.
The Handcar is a deployable train that allows you to move over rails! You can pick it up with a Wrench and move on. This can be a cheap and great way to quickly move around without building a full train.
Fluid Tanks, Item Vaults, and Accumulators can be placed on a Train to transport items, fluids, and energy.
You will need to use their respective Interfaces in order to interact with the train, just like on other contraptions.
Portable interfaces allow you to move items between your trains and your storage. Placing a Portable Interface on the train and connecting it to a vault, fluid tank, or accumulator will allow you to move items, fluids, and energy on and off your train! The interfaces require a two block gap between each other to work.
When the two interfaces are "kissing", they act as one connected interface, so pulling items out of a stationary interface with a chute will pull them out of the train, for example.
Note: The Energy Interface will require a GregTech Energy Converter in order to convert the FE to EU.
Train Observers can be used to detect the cargo transported by the Train. By 右键 the Train Observer and placing it next to the tracks, you can filter the train cargo by placing an item on top of the block.
Once a train with the filtered cargo passes over the Train Observer, a redstone signal will be sent from the block!
Tip: You can use filters to filter multiple items or fluids at once!
It's time to automate your railway system! Placing a Metal Casing and 右键 it with a Conductor's Cap will spawn your own Conductor. Cute, isn't it? You can move it around with a Lead.
Placing it next to a Lever and looking at it will make it pull the lever, which is useful for Track Switches.
You can also place it on a Seat in your train to use it as a driver.
Train drivers are not limited to Conductors! You can use any mob (such as an animal) on a seat or a Blaze Burner as a train driver.
右键 a Train Schedule in the air allows you to select the Train Station to which the Train should go and how long it needs to wait at a specific station.
You can also select if the Train should loop the route or stop at a specific point.
Giving your Conductor a Train Schedule will turn it into a driver and make it ride your train between your Train Stations.
The Conductor Whistle can be used to make a Train Conductor move to a specific place on the tracks, ideal if you want to modify a working Train.
右键 it on a Conductor will bind the item to the conductor, and using 右键 on the tracks will move the Train towards your selected spot.
If the Train is not able to access the specified location, it will tell you so in the game chat.
Note: The Conductor Whistle will override the Train Schedule - if you wish for your Conductor to continue its journey, you have to re-give it the Train Schedule by 右键 it twice with an empty hand.
Ever wondered where your Train goes? Or did you lose it and cannot find it? Fear not!
By giving your Train Conductor Engineer's Goggles and a Remote Lens, you can now look from the perspective of the Train Conductor.
右键 the item on the Train Conductor to bind it, and use the lens whenever you want to inspect your Train!
Your Train can use Solid fuels to accelerate the train up to 50% faster! By supplying the Train with any kind of burnable fuel, your train's speed will increase for 5 min per item.
Liquid fuels are way more energy dense compared to Solid fuels, but they require a bit more infrastructure. By placing a Fuel Tank on the Train and supplying it using the Fuel Interface, your Train will consume 100mB of fuel and accelerate by 50%. Liquid fuels last a lot longer compared to items.
For example, 100mB of Rocket Fuel lasts for 6 hours, which is 60 HOURS per bucket.
You can use Creosote, Syngas, Diesel and much more as fuel in your train. Are you unsure if your liquid classifies as a fuel? Try pumping it into a Fuel Tank - if the tank accepts the liquid, it can be used as fuel!
Is your Locomotive out of style? Fear Not! Locoboilers and Smokestacks are here to bring immersion to your railway system.
Smokestacks create smoke particles indefinitely, while Locoboilers give you the possibility to build using round shapes.
Both blocks are purely decorative.
Seats allow you to sit down while operating your train.
To prevent flying off the train while it's in motion, place a Seat on your Train and remember to secure it with Superglue.
Train crashes are a serious problem while automating your railway system. A crash will derail a Train, making it Inoperable. Luckily you can prevent most crashes with a bit of infrastructure.
右键 the Train Signal on the tracks before an intersection and place it down next to them, then you can detect when a Train is moving over them!
You can place a Semaphore on top of a Train Signal facing the other track.
Now when a Train is moving over the intersection, the other track will be blocked and Trains won't be able to pass, preventing a crash.
Note: You can stack multiple Semaphores on top of each other and connect them to multiple Train Signals, but this gets pretty complex. For more information, hold W while hovering over the Semaphore for a visualization of the functionality.
Track Switches can be used to switch tracks. 右键 the Track Switch on somea track and placing it next to it will allow you to switch Tracks!
右键 the Track Switch switches the track towards the right side, while holding Shift switches the Track Switch switches them towards the left side.
You can automate the process of switching tracks with Redstone. Supplying a redstone signal to the sides of the Track Switch will make it change the track direction depending on the side from where the signal was received.
Note: Track Switches change their orientation depending on their position to the track and the orientation of the player that placed it. Placing the Track Switch on the right-hand-side of the tracks while FACING the tracks themselves will align them so the switch is aligned parallel with the tracks.
Does loading your goods take too much time? Did you ever just want to leave the empty Carriage behind? Now you can! 右键 a Train Coupler on the tracks and place it next to them to spawn two Nodes 5 blocks apart from each other.
You can change the distance of the nodes by holding a wrench and hold-右键 on the Train Coupler's top-side. Powering the Train Coupler with a redstone signal while two separate Carriages are above the Nodes will cause the carriages to split! They won't be connected any more and your Train is free to go wherever it wants. Do you want to connect them back? You can do it by repeating the same steps!
Using Track Buffers can prevent derailing of your Trains! Placing them on the end of an unfinished track or at the outer-ends of your track will remove the possibility for your Train to derail.
It happens to the best of us. You accidentally break the tracks or your Train somehow escaped your tracks, or two trains collided with each other. And now it's Derailed.
Luckily there is an easy fix for that! 右键 your train with a Create Wrench to select it and then 右键 on the tracks to place it back.
Did you place the train facing the wrong direction? You can select it again and place it down while facing the other direction, which will make it flip around!
