Hiking Boots

Every explorer needs a good pair of boots.
Hiking Boots allow you to:

  • Quickly walk through shrubbery.
  • Obtain a minor speed boost.
  • Obtain a minor increase in safe fall height.
  • Auto-walk up blocks, enabled with key.sns.key.stepUpToggle

Various steels can be integrated into your hiking boots to give them an increase in protection. Blue and Red Steel hiking boots provide additional environmental protection from extreme temperatures.

Canes
Canes

Walking Canes provide a similar effect to hiking boots but must be held in the hand. Their step height effect can even stack with hiking boots, allowing you to auto-step up even 2-block tall walls.

Snowshoes

When worn on the feet, Snowshoes remove the slowdown penalty when walking on snow and allow you to travel on powdered snow.

Snorkel

When worn on the face, a Snorkel allows you to breathe for an extra 15 seconds underwater.

Flippers

When worn on the feet, Flippers improves your agility and speed when swimming underwater.

Diving Suit

Diving Suit

The Copper Diving Helmet and Backtank allow the wearer to stay underwater indefinitely until the backtank runs out of air. You can refill the tank by supplying it with mechanical power. Wearing Copper Diving Boots allows you to move better on the ocean floor and prevents mechanical belts and lighter-than-air gases from effecting you.

The Blue Steel Diving Suit works similarly to the Diving Suit but instead of allowing you to breath underwater, it allows you to breath under lava. To work, the whole set must be worn to protect you from the intense heat.

Digger Helmets provide a permanent ambient lightsource around the player thanks to the candle on your head. They also come with some helpful modifier upgrades such as the Mining Speed Modifier, Auto Drink Modifier, or the Temperature Insulation Linings.
Can be worn in your Curios slots, but then do not provide armor.

Grappling Hook

The Grappling Hook fires off a line of rope with Left Click and anchors against blocks to let you swing around and traverse vertically very quickly.

You can craft the grappling hook with various items to upgrade it - check out the section in the Tips - Tools quest chapter for more details.

Harpoon

The Harpoon is very similar to the Grappling Hook but is much more restrictive, having no upgrades and being able to only be launched straight upwards with Right Click.

However, It does allow you to directly ascend up the rope with key.jump, and can be combined with Coils to make Ziplines!

Bobin

If you right-click two Fences with a Coil, you'll create a Zipline! Build one above you, then shoot your Harpoon into the fence to start schmooving.

Right-click the Coil with an empty hand to change the slack of the line. Each Coil is one-way, indicated by the "arrows" on the line itself, so if you want a two-way line you'll need two coils.

You can also place Coils on other blocks for decoration, but they must be on fences to work as a zipline.

Hang Glider
Reinforced Hang Glider

The Hang Glider lets you travel horizontally long distances, which makes it great for crossing wide open areas.

Jetpacks

Jetpacks

Jetpacks are great for vertical movement, and have several upgrades, with each one being faster and better at hovering than the last.

Electric jetpacks can be remotely charged with Sneak-Right Click on a Battery, or with a Wireless Charger.
