Jars are used to preserve fruit for longer periods of time by making Jam. Jars start as Empty Jars, obtained through Glassworking. Then, a Jar Lid is added to create an Empty Jar With Lid.
In a pot, boil Sugar with 2-4 pieces of Fruit. When the recipe is done, Right Click with the empty jar with lid to create a Sealed Jar of Jam.
Jam can also be mass-produced in a Vat using a Jarring Station. Funnel ingredients into the vat, use redstone to close it and then extract the outputs from the jarring station.
Unseal a jar first in a crafting table in order to use it in recipes. The lid is not able to be retrieved. An unsealed jar only lasts for a few days!
Jar Shelves can be attached to solid walls. They can be placed directly or by clicking on an existing block of placed jars. The top of the jar shelf counts as a solid surface for placing items, more jars, or other blocks.
Jars can be placed on any solid surfaces with Right Click. A block can contain four jars of any kind.
The jarbnet is a cosmetic storage block for Jars, Candles, and Jugs. It can be opened and closed by clicking with an empty hand and Shift pressed. If candles are inside, it can be lit to produce a small amount of light.
